Many patients are unsure whether their visit is billed through a vision plan or medical insurance. The type of coverage used depends on the reason for your visit.
Vision Plans
(Routine Eye Care & Eyewear)
Accepted Vision Plan:
• Vision Service Plan (VSP)
We are out of network for all other vision plans.
Vision plans typically cover:
✓ Routine eye exams
✓ Vision prescriptions
✓ Glasses and lenses
✓ Contact lens fittings and materials
VSP benefits apply specifically to routine vision care and eyewear.

Medical Insurance
(Eye Health & Medical Conditions)
Medical insurance is used when you are seen for eye health concerns or medical conditions affecting the eyes.
We are in network with most plans from:
• Medicare Part B
• UnitedHealthcare
• Cigna
• Blue Cross Blue Shield
All other medical insurance plans are out of network.
Medical insurance may apply to visits related to:
✓ Eye infections
✓ Eye injuries
✓ Dry eye or eye pain
✓ Sudden vision changes
✓ Monitoring or treatment of eye disease
