Dr. Alpa A. Patel, O.D.
Diplomate, American Board of Optometry
After completing her undergraduate degree at the University of Michigan (Go Blue!), Dr. Alpa A. Patel graduated with her Doctor of Optometry from Pacific University in 1995. For five years Dr. Patel served the Colorado Optometric Center, a non-profit eye clinic, as Low Vision Director and then overall Clinic Director. During her time there she instructed over 100 interns, and was adjunct professor with participating optometry schools across the nation.
Dr. Patel has traveled to Mexico, Bosnia, and Sri Lanka with Lions In Sight, donating her time and treating those in need of vision care. Additionally, Dr. Patel participates in providing Denver Public School children in need with complete vision exams and glasses via the Pupil Assistance Fund. For two years, Dr. Patel also served on the Colorado State Board of Optometry.
In 1999, Dr. Patel founded Urban Eyes and has enjoyed meeting the eye care needs of the North Denver community. She has a special interest in myopia management, dry eyes, and specialty contact lens fittings. She loves getting to know her patients and looks forward to taking care of you and your families.
When she is not seeing patients at Urban Eyes, Dr. Patel is enjoying Colorado with her husband and their three daughters. On Sundays you can find her taking Indian dance classes with her girls… and barely keeping up!
